Blair Open Continues to Support Make-A-Wish
Since 2005, the Blair Open golf tournament has raised over $130,000
Tampa, Fla. (May 27, 2014) – On Friday, May 30, Blair Group will host its 26th Annual Blair Open Golf Tournament at Big Cypress Golf Club in Lakeland, Florida.
Since 2005, the event has generated over $130,000 for Make-A-Wish ® Central & Northern Florida to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions.
Blair Group owner, Bob Young is pleased with his company’s vendors, suppliers, employees and friends, helping to generate funding for 19 wishes since the partnership began. “Since partnering with Make-A-Wish, this tournament has become an event we all look forward to every year,” said Young. “We can always count on a good time, but what’s most rewarding is providing these children with good times by way of the wishes our donations help to grant.”
Make-A-Wish Central & Northern Florida, regional director, Lisa Andrews said “Blair Group’s continued support has been life-altering for 19 wish families who are facing their most difficult moments–a child’s life-threatening illness. It is wonderful to be able to count on this partnership and ensure that we can continue to provide transformational memories for kids in Central Florida.”
Since 1980, Make-A-Wish has enriched the lives of children, ages 2 ½ to 18, diagnosed with life-threatening medical conditions by granting their heart-felt wishes. On an overall organizational level, Make-A-Wish grants a wish every 40 minutes. The wish experience can be a game-changer for a child. This belief serves as inspiration to continue to grant more wishes for kids who need hope, strength and joy most.
Founded in 1986, Blair Group is one of central Florida’s largest developers of affordable lifestyle communities for individuals 55 and over. The annual golf tournament is hosted at one of Blair Group’s premier properties, Cypress Lakes. Cypress Lakes is an affordable resort-style community situated around two 18-hole champion golf courses, and offers a clubhouse with restaurant and tavern, two heated swimming pools, robust activities, gated security and much more.
Make-A-Wish grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.
